The population increases at the rate of 30,000 people every month, so the population increase every year = 12*30,000 = 360,000 or 36*10^4
Lets x be the number of years to reach the population of 378 million, thus we can set the below equation
378*10^6 - 360*10^6 = 36*10^4*x --> x = [10^6(378-360)]/36*10^4 --> x = 18*10^6/36*10^4
x = 10^2/2 = 50 years to reach the population , i.e. 2012 + 50 = 2162 answer C
