The hint is always when you have two numbers balance each other, such in this case f(24)=54 there is the factorization involved.

Best always to break down the numbers and so what is going on

Thanks for this Brent... but how did we come to the conclusion that: f(2) = 3 and f(3) = 2 from this [f(2)][f(2)][f(2)][f(3)] = (3)(3)(3)(2)? I cant seem to understand that. Pls explain more.
