Given $\(\theta(x)=-\frac{1}{x} \quad\)$ and $\(\quad \theta(a)=-\frac{1}{2} \Rightarrow a=2\)$.
As $\(\theta(a b)=-\frac{1}{8} \Rightarrow a b=-8\)$.
Therefore, by substitution, we get $b=-4$. Thus, the correct option is $B$.
