Let's take each answer choice and see which one simplifies to a^13...
A) xy = (a^5)(a^6) = a^11. No good. We need a^13. ELIMINATE
B) x²y = (a^5)²(a^6) = (a^10)(a^6) = a^16. No good. We need a^13. ELIMINATE
C) x³/y = (a^5)³/(a^6) = (a^15)/(a^6) = a^9. No good. We need a^13. ELIMINATE

E) y³/x = (a^6)³/(a^5) = (a^18)/(a^5) = a^13. BINGO!!
Answer: E
