Ok, let's start from the inner operation.
@5, since 5 is odd, is equal to 2*5-2 = 8
@8, since 8 is even, is equal to 3*8-3 = 21
@21, since 21 is odd, is equal to 2*21-2 = 40.
And we are done! Answer B
