Prime Factors of 30 are 3,5,2

So all possible factors - 2,3,5,6,10,15

3 x 10 = 30 = 13
15 x 2 = 30 = 17
6 x 5 = 30 = 11

Along with 30 X 1 = 30 = 31, we get the sums of factors as 13, 17,11, and 31.

Since two negatives make a positive we would also get -13, -17, -11, -31

The only number left out is -21 which is the correct answer (Choice E).

Re: Which of the following CANNOT [#permalink]
We need to find Which of the following CANNOT be the sum of two integers that have a product of 30

Lets take each option choice and try

(A) 31 = 30 + 1 => Product = 30 * 1 = 30 => POSSIBLE

(B) 17 = 15 + 2 => Product = 15 * 2 = 30 => POSSIBLE

(C) -11 = -5 + -6 => Product = -5 * -6 = 30 => POSSIBLE

(D) -13 = -3 + -10 => Product = -3 * -10 = 30 => POSSIBLE

(E) –21 => NOT POSSIBLE

So, Answer will be E
Hope it helps!
