Here total eggs that can be filled in 50 cartons = 50 * 12 = 600
But Mr Gifford has only 372 eggs, so 600-372 = 228 places are left empty.
Since 1 cartoon holds = 12eggs
So 228 places will hold = \(\frac{228}{12}\)= 19 cartons
