Look at Diagram 1. In two of the sectors phone X was rated as the preferred phone. The sum of these percentages is 15.3% + 18.7% = 34%. 34% of 1,000 is 340. In two of the sectors, phone Y was rated as the preferred phone. The sum of these percentages is 9.8% + 6.2% = 16%. 16% of 1,000 is 160. 340 − 160 = 180.
