Should I apply with a below averagre score on GRE for Wharton? [#permalink] New post   20 Nov 2021, 01:11
Hi The average score for Wharton PhD Program is V:162 and Q:167. My score is V:159, and Q:160. I have a 8 years of teaching experience and one publication in marketing.
I understand that GRE is just one of many factors that counts towards admission but my score are pretty low than average. Should I apply with such low scores to Wharton?

Hi,

This is a classic case of - You won't know if you won't apply.

But honestly, 319 is not a bad score either and it is correct that it is one of many components of the application.
I would suggest you connect with alums and current students to get the clear picture.

What's generally worse in the eyes of an admissions officer? A below average GRE score or a below average GPA? 🤔

I do not think for that school is advisable UNLESS you have an outstanding CV and experience

Hi computerbot, looks to be a stretch. I’d recommend connecting with students/alums from the program who have a similar profile to yours, to get a better idea of the hard stats potentially required.
