The questions on the GRE are broken down in a specific format. In order to do your best, it is important to know how to navigate through the different question types in order to maximize your score.
Remember the actual structure of the new Shorter GRE
1st quant section:
- 4 quantitative comparison, 1 question of select one or more, 3 questions on data interpretation (Q6-8 was data interpretation), 3 problem solving questions and 1 numeric entry question.

Q4)Quantitative Comparison
Q5)Select one or more

Q9) Problem-solving
Q10) Problem-solving
Q11) Problem-solving
Q12)Numeric entry
Remember, you get the same number of points for the really quant questions as you do the really easy ons. That is not to say you won’t spend more time on a QCQ then on a PS. If you feel any one question is eating up an inordinate amount of time, then skip it and come back to it. The upside to this is not just saving time; often your brain is more likely to “get it” when, with fresh eyes, you look at the question again.
