In the table below, you can easily find all the Law Schools that now accept the GRE score. We will also provide the average at the TOP 20 Law Schools - usually, they are the most prestigious & after which the graduated students could make a salary in the range of \($60,000 \leq Salary \leq $200,000\) per year.

Key points worth mentioning:

  • The ranking applies ONLY to the first 20 positions; the other LAW Schools are enlisted in alphabetical order;
  • Even though we provide the average score for the TOP 20 LAW Schools, overall the average GRE score is \(\approx 328\) with a Qscore and Vscore in the range of 155-170 and the AWA average of 4.0 which is enough even for the top schools.
    Most LAW Schools do not even mention the minimum GRE score;
  • The list is provided by ETS on its official website here in January 2023.

Is it possible to apply to a Law School that accepts the GRE+
YES. You can apply to any Law Schools in the list above or, in general, to any Law School that accepts the GRE as part of the admission process as standardized test to evaluate the student's profile


How will the Law School evaluate applications that include both a GRE score and an LSAT score?+
If you submit a GRE and an LSAT score, the School will consider both scores. If you have multiple scores for one or both exams, the highest score of each, usually, is considered.


If I’ve already taken the LSAT, can I submit a GRE score instead?+
If you have already taken the LSAT, as a general rule, you must apply via LSAC and submit your LSAT scores. If you have also taken the GRE and would like to submit that score, which you can provide via your LSAC application, and will consider it with all other application materials.


Will I be required to submit a CAS report if I only take the GRE?+
Generally speaking, Yes. all applicants will be required a CAS report regardless of whether they take the GRE,the LSAT, or both.


If I take both the LSAT and the GRE, must I submit my GRE scores?+
No. You may opt to submit both LSAT and GRE scores, but you are not required to submit your GRE scores if you have a reportable LSAT score on file..


Will taking the GRE in lieu of the LSAT put me an advantage or disadvantage in the review process? and there is a minimum GRE score?+
No. Absolutely to the first question. The admission process does not rely ONLY on the GRE or LSAT score but the student is evaluated holistically, based on several factors, NOT only the GRE score or LSAT score. As for the GRE score in Law Schools, please refer to the table above. However, most of the Schools do not require a minimum score explicitly


Is the GRE a valid predictor of law school success?+
Complicated answer: on one hand the GRE score is a tool to have at a glance certain reasoning skills possessed by the student without, for the adcom, delving too deep and wasting time. There is not definitive answer by science.


What is the oldest score that a School accepts?+
GRE scores that are five years old.


Does the Admissions Committee prefer one test over another?+
No. The Admissions Committee will accept either exam and there is no preference in the admissions process for one test over another. The Admissions Committee has no preference for the LSAT or the GRE, and will accept either test score. They consider all applications holistically and will evaluate applications similarly regardless of test type.
