I can understand your conundrum in selecting GRE or GMAT for your MBA program. Whether you should take GMAT or GRE for the program is not entirely a black and white question. It depends. That is, it depends on who is taking the test. For those with strong Quant skills the GRE math will seem easy. The GMAT math is definitely more daunting. So if you struggle with Quant the GMAT will seem very difficult.
On the other hand if you struggle with the nuances of vocabulary and style, the GRE verbal section may be very difficult. That is not to say that the GMAT verbal is easier. But the Sentence Corrections section is more of the science of grammar, and those with logical minds tend to be more adept at quickly sifting through a morass of words to find grammatical errors. The GRE Text Completions and Sentence Equivalence questions, by contrast, are testing the art of word usage, a skill most humanities majors have been honing for years.
For those applying to business school, first make sure that your program accepts the GRE. If so, then ask yourself which test better shows off your strengths. If you are unsure, you can always take an official GRE practice test and an official GMAT test (both are free). If you score significantly better on one, then the answer is clear. If there isn’t much difference, spend a week getting a feel for each test to see which one suits your skill set better.

I would recommend the following steps:

1. If your program accepts GRE, try to know what is the median GRE score or GMAT score.
2. From reading the post, i can guess that you already have a fair idea about your GMAT score. Then you should compare that score to the median GMAT score of your program. Since you haven't given GRE you cannot do the same. I recommend you give the GRE diagnostic test by ETS https://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general ... powerprep2. This should give you a fair idea where you stand.

Once you know which test suits you the best, the rest should be pretty straight forward. But as my friend Sandy already highlighted having a good GRE or GMAT score helps but admission depends on a lot of other things as well. I wish you best of luck! I am in the very same boat! 2 attempts on GMAT with a low score and now I have only 2 weeks to prepare (B school deadlines). I am trying to evaluate if GRE is a better option for me. Can someone suggest if I should even try to take GRE as I have only 2 weeks for prep, or I should keep my focus on GMAT? GMAT is kind of scaring me now because however hard I try I am unable to score in the exam (scoring better in prep tests though).

Also, can someone share a link to a free GRE diagnostic test?
