Just looking at it, it looks like whatever B is, it’s going to be larger than A. However, this is a quadratic equation equivalent to 𝑥2 +4𝑥 − 32 = 0. Factor into (x + 8)(x – 4) = 0. In order for this equation to equal 0, either x+ 8 = 0 or x – 4 = 0. So, x must equal to either -8 or 4, the sum of which is -4. -4 added to 8 gives 4.
