The answer should be D and not B as when we take X=4 both quantities are equal. Let me know incase i have interpreted it wrong.

Always you should simply the stems
A = the median=\(x-4,x+1\) and \(4x=x+1
\)
B the mean\(= \frac{(x-4)+(x+1)+4x}{3}=\frac{6x-3}{3}=2x-1\)
So we do have x+1 for A and 2x-1 for B
We do know that x>2 and could be both an integer or a fraction such as 5/2
In both scenarios B is > A
