Now if both x and y were positive or negative then both the quantities will be equal.
So this is possible only when both x and y have different signs and that too y has to be positive as |x| y is greater than x |y|
So, y is positive and x is negative.
Quantity A will be smaller than Quantity B as in Quantity B x-y will get added up and in Quantity A x+y will get subtracted
Example
x=-4 and y=3
Quantity A = (x+y)^2 = (-4+3)^2 = (-1)^2 = 1
Quantity B = (x-y)^2 = (-4-3)^2 = (-7)^2 = 49
So, Answer will be option B
