I took Kaplan when I thought that I wanted to be a dentist and needed to take the DAT. I took Kaplan when I wanted to become a nurse and needed to take the NCLEX; and I just took Kaplan again because all my PHD programs want me to have a GRE score. Kaplan has been there my entire academic career. I passed each test the first time around and for this current GRE for my PHD, we consider it a formality, because schools ultimately let in whom they want to let in at this level. But each school had a preferred 149 for verbal and I received a 147, and I was told to not bother about my math due to my subject matter, but guess what? That accidentally improved, there was barely anything on the test that was actually "hard". I remember propping my feet up in my cubical with the keyboard on my leg typing away during the essays. I struggle the most with argumentative essays the entire month, but after trudging along with the examples provided and a session with my coach, well I told you how I was typing in that cubicle. I knew I did good when I walked out. But was excited to see my math score, I wanted to cry! but they were trying to finish me up in the testing center. We have done it once again Kaplan, but I hope this is the last time I see you guys!

The Kaplan GRE course was very beneficial to my personal development. The courses, lesson on demand videos, workshops, and the one on one tutoring was informative. I definitely learned a lot and the instructors gave me good feedback throughout my email whenever I struggle on certain concepts. They truly were invested into my success and I even got a personalized study plan on the areas that was specific for my weaknesses. Even though I didn't get the score I wanted to achieved, I plan on taking the courses for a second time. I will be using these effective Kaplan strategies when I retake the test.
I have been referred to Magoosh by my sister who have gone through each and every question of Magoosh which has helped her score above 300 in GRE. This has ultimatey also helped her get to the college she desired for. The explaination they offer for every question really makes life easy :-) I would suggest every student planning to give GRE to refer to Magoosh. Its all self explanatory and student friendly. Its mobile app GRE VOCABALORY which i have donwloaded on my mobile is also really helpful. One can refer to the app and strengthen your vocab while you are travelling etc.
Target Test Prep helped my quant score immensely, by 12 points exactly! It was truly like night and day. It broke down each concept and problem so clearly that it was hard to not study well. I had tried Manhattan Prep and Kaplan previously and found Target Test Prep to be much more useful and affordable! Their quick and easy formula sheet was also super helpful in helping me keep track of all my notes and concepts that I learned. The staff is also great with one on one help if you need someone to talk to. Overall they delivered a quality experience for test takers. Please please please save yourself the time and use this for your quant prep from day 1!
I studied with EmpowerGRE for 3 months, and then Magoosh for 4 months, and after two tests, my highest quant score was 152. Needless to say, math does not come easily to me.
But I then studied for less than a month with Target Test Prep, and I scored a 159, and didn't even feel prepared for the exam. With just another couple of weeks, I feel like I could've scored into the low-mid 160s.
The best thing about this course is how it gives you a blueprint for targeted studying. It gives you in-depth diagnostics as to where you struggle so that you can really hone in on the very specific areas that you're struggling with (or at least need to improve on)-- I've yet to see anything like that kind of precision on any other test software.
Also, the guys at Target are extremely receptive and responsive to constructive criticism, suggestions, and any help you might need.
I just scored 170 on the quant part, because of the intensive training provided by TTP. To be fair, I must begin by saying that I do have a background in math, but in my opinion only half of the test is actually knowing theory. The other half is knowing problem solving strategies and how to apply them quickly. TTP's course does an excellent job at training you for this. First, because the exercises correlate almost 100% with those on the actual test, so you are going to be ready for what you're getting on the big day. Second, because the exercises are organized by sub-topics AND difficulty levels. This last point is crucial. For example, you can train the sub-topic "Work" problems (which are contained in a broader class of "Ratio" problems) separately. This has really helped me a lot, because I could train the specific places that I was falling behind. Finally, after each question that I did not get right, I'd check and study the test strategies presented in the videos. These have really helped me not only get more questions correctly but also improve my time (and if you have not taken the test yet, trust me: every second counts). TTP is hands the best option around to prepare for the quant part of the GRE.
The organization of the product was fantastic. The overall presentation with the intro video/course/and recommended practice as well as the additional in book assignments were extremely helpful. However, for 500+ dollars I was expecting a little bit more, perhaps that's just my cheapness.
The test day experience really helped me figure out what I needed to bring with me and what attitude I needed for the following week when I took my exam. I found that to be one of the most helpful things, and to take an exam is already $200 so it makes a bit of sense why the cost is so high. I benefited greatly from the in video practice and the homework helped me identify areas of weakness that I needed to practice. Overall I believe it helped me a lot and was an effective way to study for the GRE.
For a month and a half I spent hours watching the lesson videos and doing practice problems. When I took the GRE for the second time my Quant score actually went down. My verbal score increased slightly but not as much as I had hoped. Magoosh has a lot of positive reviews so I was very hopeful when I choose the program but I was left very disappointed. If I could do it again I would have chosen a different program. I am going to use the scores I have now to apply to the programs I want to get into because I dont really have time to retake it again before applications are due. If I do not get in this round I will be taking the GRE again and I will not be using Magoosh to study.
I went to Target Prep because I was sick of using books and companies for a year and not achieving the results that I wanted. I used GRE Target Prep for 2 months and it was the best thing that could’ve happened to me without spending thousands of dollars on tutors. The software is easy to use. I first went through the lessons and than tuned up my math with tons of questions. Target software allowed me to focus on my areas of weakness. I would never use any other product and I am sad that I didn’t find them sooner. I improved my test score in math from 40% percentile to 70% percentile in 2 months.
Excellent tutorial, I have seen many video of magoosh on Youtube, I am quite interesting in taking this course, so I could improve my GRE score. Which would help me in achieving my dream school in computer science. My aim to score 320+ in GRE general exam. I have taken few mock tests online, Quantitative is not problem for me, I am facing difficulties in Verbal section mainly in Reading comprehension and Sentence equivalence section. My many friends have taken Magoosh GRE course improved there score. I am looking forward to get better assistance from magoosh team in achieving my dream goal
