You know that b is greater than a, so (a – b) will always be negative, and Quantity A will always be greater. Alternatively, you can solve this one by plugging in values for a and b.
Try making \(a= \frac{1}{4}\) and \(b=\frac{1}{2}\) : The value in Quantity B is now \(2(\frac{1}{4}-\frac{1}{2})=2\frac{-1}{4}=\frac{-1}{2}\).
Quantity A is greater, so eliminate choices (B) and (C).

We can solve this question using matching operations
Given:
Quantity A: 0
Quantity B: 2(a-b)
Expand Quantity B to get:
Quantity A: 0
Quantity B: 2a - 2b
Add 2b to both quantities to get:
Quantity A: 2b
Quantity B: 2a
Divide both quantities by 2 to get:
Quantity A: b
Quantity B: a
Since we're told that 0 < a < b < 1, we can see that Quantity A is greater.
