d and e are two positive integers. However, you do not know their entity.

The could be fractions or integers such as 2 and 3 or 2 and one million.

From this, is a waste of time to plug in numbers in quantity A and B. Straight the answer should be D in your real test.
Ask for further assistance.

Regards

Question says 0 > d > e It appears that D is less than 0 and E is even lesser than D .

D and E are both negatives. ..

In this case DE will be a positive number and root de will be even smaller number.. please explain.

Sorry, you are right both are negative. My mindset is in the automatic pilot when I see such question. This means what students in a more general way should have when tackling a GRE question. Flexibility.

The meaning is still the same: both negative or positive does not change the way to solve this question. You do not know which is which. You do not have enough information.

D is the answer
