essentially the portion in red is y
Therefore
\(y=\frac{1}{2}+y
\)
\(2y+y^2=1\)
\(y^2+2y+1=1+1\)
\((y+1)^2=2\)
\(y+1= \pm \sqrt{2}\)
\(y= \pm \sqrt{2}-1\)
Since y consists of all positive terms, y > 0
B and C are the correct answers
