For this, we are given a triangle and a quadrilateral and are asked to compare angle measurements.
Since we know that the angles in a triangle add up to 180 degrees, we can say $\(3 x=180\)$, so $\(x=60\)$.
We also know that the angles of a quadrilateral sum to 360 degrees, so $\(4 y=360\)$, and $\(y =90\)$.
We can now plug in the these values for $x$ and $y$ to arrive at a comparison.
Column A: $\(2(60)+2(90)=120+180=300\)$
Because 300 is greater than 270 , the answer is $(A)$.
