To arrange the 3 married couples in a row without separating any couple, treat each couple as a single unit or block. First, arrange these 3 blocks, which can be done in 6 ways. Then, within each block, the couple can switch places, giving 8 ways for all couples. Multiply the two results to find the total arrangements, which is 48.
