Substitute \(a = 3b-10\) into \(3a−10=b\) to find b.
\(3(3b-10) -10 = b\)
\(9b - 30 -10 = b\)
\(8b = 40\)
\(b = 5\)
Plug in b = 5 back into \(3a-10=b\) to find a.
\(3a - 10 = 5\)
\(a = 5\)
Since a = b, the two quantities are equal.
