(4+5)/ 5=4/ 5y | *5
9 = 4 / y
y = 4/9
plug 4/9 in for y in Q. A: 8 / (9*4/9) = 8/4 = 2 --> equal to B --> solution C
9 = 4 / y
y = 4/9

Here's another approach...
Given: \(\frac{4+5}{5}=\frac{4}{5y}\)
Simplify left side: \(\frac{9}{5}=\frac{4}{5y}\)
Cross multiply: \(20 = 45y\)
Divide both sides by 45y to get: \(\frac{20}{45y}=1\)
Simplify: \(\frac{4}{9y} = 1\)
Multiply both sides by 2 to get: \(\frac{8}{9y} = 2\)
Answer: C
