For Quantity A, there are 8 options for president and 8 options for vice president, giving you 8 × 8 = 64 total assignments. For Quantity B, once you pick a woman to be president, there are only 7 women left to be vice president, giving you 8 × 7 = 56 assignments.

The answer is choice A.
