All solutions are composed of one of the compounds completely dissolved in water. Solubility refers to the ability of a substance to dissolve completely in water at a given temperature, and is expressed as a percent of compound per unit mass of solution. The mass of a solution is the sum of the mass of the water and the mass of the compound dissolved in the water.
A first solution is created by adding the maximum amount of Ammonium Sulphate that can be completely dissolved at 30°C to 10 grams of water. A second solution is created by raising the temperature to 0°C and adding the maximum amount of Ammonium Sulphate that can be completely dissolved. What is the percent increase in the amount of Ammonium Sulphate from the first solution to the second?
