A jar contains 10 red marbles and 30 green ones. How many red marbles must be added to the jar so that 60% of the marbles will be red?

Show: :: OA
35

Total marbles 40, and let r more are added, so new total is 40+r
Also, the number of red after increase is 10+r

So, \(10+r=\frac{60}{100}(40+r)......10+r=24+0.6r....0.4r=14.....r=35\)
