A political poll showed that 80 percent of those polled said they would vote for proposition P. Of those who said they would vote for proposition P70 percent actually voted for P, and of those who did not say they would vote for P, 20 percent actually voted for P. What percent of those polled voted for P?

Let's say that the no of people polled \(= 100\)
\(80\)% said that they will vote for \(P\), they are \(80\) people
But of those \(70\)% voted for \(P\)
So actual votes for \(P = 70\)%\((80) = 56\)
\(20\)% of people will not vote for \(P\), as they said in the pole, so they are \(20\) people
But \(20\)% actually voted for \(P\) despite declining in the poll for \(P\)
So actual votes \(= 20\)%\((20) = 4\)
Total votes for \(P = 56 + 4 = 60\) \(= 60\)%
Answer B
