Let's say that the no of people polled \(= 100\)
\(80\)% said that they will vote for \(P\), they are \(80\) people
But of those \(70\)% voted for \(P\)
So actual votes for \(P = 70\)%\((80) = 56\)
\(20\)% of people will not vote for \(P\), as they said in the pole, so they are \(20\) people
But \(20\)% actually voted for \(P\) despite declining in the poll for \(P\)
So actual votes \(= 20\)%\((20) = 4\)
Total votes for \(P = 56 + 4 = 60\) \(= 60\)%
