A polling company found that, of 400 people polled, 180 did not have a positive impression of either Candidate A or Candidate B, 100 had a positive impression of Candidate A but did not have a positive impression of Candidate B, and for every person who had a positive impression of both candidates, 2 had a positive impression of Candidate B but did not have a positive impression of Candidate A. How many of the 400 people polled had a positive impression of both candidates?

If 180 did not have a positive impression of either candidate, then 400-2*180=40 have positive impression of both candidates
answer is B

400-180 = 220 people had some kind of positive impression. Now, if x people have a positive impression of both the candidate, then 2x people have a positive impression of candidate B but not on candidate A. If we see mathematically, then 100+x+2x=220, x= 40
So 40 people have a positive impression of both the candidates.
