For all packages weighing more than 5 pounds, the shipping cost C is given by C = $2.80 + So.25 x (P - 5), where P is the weight, in pounds, of the package. According to the problem, the cost to ship Package A is greater than S7 and less than S8. Therefore:
$7 < $2.80 + $0.25 x (P - 5) < $8
Subtracting $ 2 . 8 0
$4.20 < $0.25 x ( P - 5) < $5.20
Then, you can divide all three expressions by $0.25:
\(4.20/0.25<P-5<5.20/0.25\)
In the end we have
\(21.8<P<25.8\)
