Ana is a girl and has the same number of brothers as sisters. Andrew is a boy and has twice as many sisters as brothers. Ana and Andrew are the children of Emma. How many children does Emma have?

Explanation:
Lets assume that Ana has x brothers and x sisters. Therefore the total number of children become 2x+1 (including Ana).
Now lets check Andrew, who has exactly the twice number of sisters as brothers. Now there are x boys and x+1 girls. So Andrew has (x-1) brothers and (x+1) sisters. According to the given information: (x+1) = 2 (x-1) or, x +1 = 2x -2 or, x = 3.
Therefore the total number of children are (2x+1) or 7.
