Topic: Recent incursions by deep-sea fishermen into the habitat of the Madagascan shrimp have led to a significant reduction in the species population. With the breeding season fast approaching, the number of shrimp should soon begin to increase. Nonetheless, the population should not return to the levels before the fishing boats arrived. Because this trend is expected to continue over the next several years, the Madagascan shrimp will quickly become an endangered species.
This arguement attempts to blame the incursions of the deep-sea fisherman in the habitat of the Madagascan shrimp for the decrease of the shirmp population, ,that Madagascan shrimp will become an endangered species within the next few years. However, there are many false claims in this arguement in which statistical data should be provided so that the arguement can possibly be deemed valid.
The first claim is that the deep-sea fisherman's incursions are the reason for the declining population of the Madagascan shrimp. This claim also blames the deep-sea fisherman for the decline of the shrimp population, but it does not give any information about the fisherman actually fishing for the Madagascan shrimp. Perhaps the shrimp live in the shallow water and remained mostly untouched by the fisherman's nets and the population declined due to another environmental factor. Information regarding if the fisherman were attempting to fish for the Madagascan shrimp and at what level the shrimp usually live in the water could provide evidence for this claim.
Another claim that is invalid is that the population of shrimp will not return to the levels before the fishing boats arrived. This claim has no evidence to support it and is invalid because it claims causation where there is only correlation. Perhaps there is also a shrimp-predator population that has been increasingly on the rise as well and that the larger amount of predators in the shrimp habitat has resulted in the decrease of the shirmp population. This claim does not take into account any other factors that could be contributing to the shrimp population decline and a statistical report of the shrimp's natural predatory population growth or decline is needed to help to make the claim valid.
The last invalid claim is that if the trend continues, the Madagascan shrimp will become an endangered species. To prove this claim, statistical population evidence on the Madagascan shrimp would need to be provided to show the degree of the population decline and the projected populations in the next several years. This arguement also does not state that the arguement's habitat that is subject to the deep-sea fishing is the only place on the planet that Madagascan shrimp exist. Perhaps this arguement pertains to a small group of the shrimp found on a specific coast, but does not consider the substantial amount of Madagascan shrimp located elsewhere. Evidence would also need to be provided regarding all of the known places that Madagascan shrimp exist in the world and their corresponding populations to help with the validity of this claim.
Overall, this arguement is invalid becuase it provides no evidence to validate it's claims. Substantial statistical evidence mentioned above needs to be provided in order to prove that the deep-sea fisherman is the cause for the decline of the Madagascan shrimp population, and that the Madagascan shrimp will soon become an endangered species within the next few years.
