I'm leaning toward EF, but it could be AE. I always try to come up with my own word choice before looking at the answer, and I got "disregard." Please share your thoughts!

I understand the sentence completely, but I don't get why denounce and dismiss are a pair. Thought dismiss and ignore are closer

Because when you denounce something in the sense of

"To officially exclude someone from membership of a church or religious community"

dismiss is a synonym

What are the key points here to find out the blank should be negative. Why are positive words like Commend and Extol wrong.

It can be also understood like it can be wrong to praise the esoteric strains.
