Here,
Let the total Tips = X
Now, 4 waiters combined get = \(\frac{2X}{3}\)
and 1 waiter receives = \(\frac{2X}{12}\)
Manager receives = \(\frac{X}{4}\)
the busboy receives = X - (\(\frac{2X}{3} + \frac{X}{4}\)) = \( \frac{X}{12}\)
Since,
1 waiter and the busboy together receive $30
therefore, \(\frac{2X}{12} + \frac{X}{12}\) = $30
or X = $120
