The real problem with the Verbal NON-official material is not that much the use or wrong vocab words or difficult one.
The real problem is that they are not able to create verbal questions with the style, the consistency and also the beauty of the Official Material.
All the prep companies push to learn words and as a consequence to memorize.
This is the wrong strategy. The best strategy is to understand the real essence and meaning of the sentence. This way, even though you do not know a word you will be able always to tackle the question.

Hello everyone,
I am an Engineer from Mexico trying to get into an American grad school, I so far have completed the two powerprep practice tests offered by the official websites and did well,, obtaining 156 and 160 in the verbal reasoning part and 166 and 167 in the quantitative part, I have noticed most of my mistakes come from not knowing what the most complicated words mean and would like to know if you know of a prep book that specifically adresses the hard vocabulary
