Question: As people rely more and more on technology to solve problems, the ability of humans to think for themselves will surely deteriorate.
my response:
Technology has made humans lazy not stupid. From the moment smartphones came in our hands, they have only increased there functionalities and made our day to day life easier. They have clearly made almost everything efficient and at out fingertips. One can argue that this process in the long run will or is making humans lose their basic problem solving skills. But, I my opinion it has caused a quite a contrary effect.
As the ever growing tech has made everything fast and efficient it has also spare humans time to focus on other important things and work on them for the development of mankind.
For instance now humans can focus on bigger problems like finding other planetary species, find cures to diseases which would have been very harmful if cure would not have found.
Technology has also given humans an added advantage which we lacked in earlier centuries. For example I can sit in my living room and check what is the traffic condition at a place where I might want to go or look at a place in 360 degree view even without visiting it. All of this would not have been possible if the technology we posse today won’t exist.
To conclude I would add, technology maybe making humans lazy but it is not making us stupid as we may calculate easy equations on calculator but no we have time to derive equations which we wouldn’t know existed if technology didn’t assist us.
