Given that Each paperback copy of a certain book costs $5 and and hardback copy of the book costs $8. The average (arithmetic mean) cost of x paperback copies and y hardback copies is 6.
Now the price of each paperback copy is $5 and hardcopy book is $8 and average is $6 which is closer to $5 as compared to $8
=> There are more number of paperback copies as compared to hardcopies
=> x > y
Clearly, Quantity A(x) > Quantity B(y)
So, Answer will be A
