Hi everyone
I am seeking an advice regarding the resources I should rely on to prepare for the GRE, with aimed score of 160 in both quant and verbal.
I already went through the reviews of some GRE prep companies in GREprep club (this website) as well as some forums in Reddit.
I would like to highlight that I already studied for GMAT last year but decided to do the switch to GRE, as GMAT focus mock didn't go well, and I think the materials offered might still not be sufficient.
Anyway, although TTP reviews for GRE are spectacular in GRE PREP CLUB, but I learnt not to follow those reviews religiously as I read many great reviews previously for another prep company for GMAT, and I didn't end up having the same experience of the users on gmatclub.
the name
magoosh popped up a lot too for gre prep courses, it also has decent reviews on GRE PREP club.
In reddit though, it seems that TTP is very well recommended especially for Quant content and practice (same case of GMAT). For verbal, not so much.
I came across the name gremat a lot and the vocab there or "vocab mountain" was very much recommended. Regarding verbal practice, I could only read that Official ETS vocab questions which I think are around 150 questions are the best to practice from.
I will sign up for both
magoosh and TTP trials to decide which suits me best.
But if I want to try and benefit from other users experience, it seems that people achieved success for Quant with TTP, Gregmat to memorize vocabulary (it's also cheap 5 USD/ month), and they complemented both by practicing all questions in OG 3 books (General test, quant reasoning book, verbal reasoning book).
Did I miss something here?
If I register with TTP or
magoosh, shall I just ignore the verbal section and depend on gremat vocab list and official practice questions? or shall I aim to learn the verbal strategies from the courses too? I read that 3rd party verbal questions are not as good as the ETS official ones.. so I am wondering if I should skip verbal questions in any prep company I end up choosing. Note that I need somehow the quickest way (2 to 3 months) to achieve my target score (given that currently I stand with 150 quant and 143 in verbal).
Do people end up mixing from different resources to achieve results? and what's special about gregmat vocab that you cannot find in other prep companies course? Is gregmat recommended to teach verbal strategies too? as it looks like I will rely on TTP or
magoosh to learn quant strategies. I don't want to waste money, time and energy between different sources. So, if you can help me refine my findings and decide on which source is best for which category (ie. Quant, Vocab, RC, CR, AWA), THAT WOULD BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL!!
Thanks
