Let G = Gabe's current age and P = Paul's current age
Since Gabe is currently 5 years older than Paul, G = 5 + P
Gabe's age 3 years ago is G-3, and Paul's age 3 years ago is P-3
Since Gabe's age 3 years ago was twice as much as Paul's 3 years ago,
G-3 = 2(P-3)
G = 2P-3
Substitute G=2P-3 back into the equation G=5+P to solve for P
2P-3 = 5+P
P = 8
Paul's current age is 8, so Quantity B is larger.
Since Gabe is currently 5 years older than Paul, G = 5 + P
Gabe's age 3 years ago is G-3, and Paul's age 3 years ago is P-3
Since Gabe's age 3 years ago was twice as much as Paul's 3 years ago,
G-3 = 2(P-3)
G = 2P-3
