All we need to do is to find the base and height of the right angled triangle formed. The points are (0,0) and two other points one in x-axis and the other one in y-axis.
The point in x-axis is derived by putting y = 0 in the line equation:
x + y = 4
The point is (4,0) and the other point of y-axis similarly is (0,4). So the base of the triangle x-axis segment = 4 and the height of the triangle the y-axis segment is 4. Therefore the area,
A = 1/2 * 4*4 = 8 sq units.
