ISSUE TASK:
CLAIM: Governments must ensure that their major cities receive the financial support they need in order to thrive
REASON: It is primarily in cities that a nation's cultural traditions are preserve and generated
Think of one city that you would travel to in the United States. My guess is that city is one of the many well known cities that everyone is familar with. Many people move to these large cities each day, and with them, they bring their own culture and traditions. Hence why, governments do not need to ensure that their major cities receive the financial support they need in order to thrive, because these cities may no longer hold the nation's cultural traditions.
New York is a city full of bright lights and well known land marks. There are large amount of toursits and individuals who move to New York because of what the city is known for. When people move, they do not tend to preserve or confine to the cultural tradition's. Instead, they bring their own with them. This changes the norm of traditions that may have otherwise been preserved.
Additionally, culture changes every day because the world is changing everyday. If major cities were to abide by the nation's cultural traditions, instead of adapting to what is new and now, they may no longer be labeled as a major city.
However, ensuring that major cities receive the financial support they need to preserve the nation's cultural traditions, may influence these cities to be more strict about the traditions and confirm less to society. It is good to preserve as much of the nation's traditions as possible because there is little to nothing left from our history.
Migrants to major cities cause cultural diversity. Therefore, there is no need for the government to ensure that their major cities receive the financial support that they need in order to thrive, because these cities may no longer hold the nation's cultural traditions.
