The paleontologist's ____ orthodoxy meant that the evidence he had so painstakingly gathered would inevitably be ____ by his more conventional colleagues.
A, Break With B, Dependence on C, Reputation for
D, Considered E, contested F, Classified
Sandy can you please say me how to break this and rephrase to knew contextual meaning?
The clue to the solution is in the second part of the sentence which states that the colleagues of the afore mentioned Paleontologist are conventional. Lets go by elimination method for the second blank.
Classified is out since it not the best fit.
Considered is possible and that would imply that "The Paleontologist" was also orthodox in his method. However this would make the phrase "painstakingly gathered would inevitably be" unnecessary.
Contested seems to be the best fit. Hence the first blank would be Option A "Break with".
This is a tough question. with both contested and considered likely candidates for the second blank. However contested is the better fit and thus the first blank is "Break with"
