GRE Word List

GRE Word List poses the biggest challenge for any Non-Native GRE taker, the daunting task that makes this exam prep even more complicated. Though ETS long dumped the straight synonym and antonym type questions from GRE but it came with a more well-crafted approach where the examiner very tactfully got the GRE takers wrecking their nerves in the verbal reasoning section with half the questions (10 questions out of 20 in each section) dedicated to Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence.
Here came arguments with single or multiple blanks that tested one’s ability on a variety of aspects of the Vocabulary or the GRE Word List
• The understanding of the argument as a seemingly innocuous set of sentences may be completely trap laden
• The correct usage of the words as merely knowing the meaning of the word was now not enough
• It also checked the sheer grasp of the vocabulary or the word list as if one wants to crack the Verbal code, he or she needs to be hands-on with the shades and subtleties of the meaning
• Seemingly convoluted arguments that otherwise look nonsensical make perfect sense provided one pugs in the correct words
• Extremely close options to choose from, one who knows the different shades of the words correctly will hit the correct button
The trick to crack this type of GRE verbal reasoning questions is not memorizing the WORD LIST, no more rote learning of few thousand words, HENCE all those flash cards, memory apps, GRE top 1000, high frequency series etc. fails. YES, I know for sure those DON’T WORK.
Ask was a very well researched method that takes care of the shades, meanings, subtleties, the nuances, the phonetics and the usage into consideration. At IVY GRE Verbal - ivyverbal dot com apart from the regular check-ins on the word list in every session where we use a typical copyrighted technique to pace up the learning process, in the end of the course we cement our understanding with a Vocabulary Marathon. I would love to share more on that in my next article.
