Should I retake or should I focus on other elements of my application?
Greetings,
First of all congratulations!!
324 is a damn good GRE Score - Highly competitive.
Now, is 324 good enough to secure a Top admit? Well, I would say it all comes down to the program/school that you are applying to and how well you present your profile in your application!
For instance, my students have had admits from UBC (MBA) with 307, from Columbia (MS Engineering) with 312, from CMU and UCLA (MS Econ.) with 316, from Stanford and Purdue (MS Engineering) with 328, but a student with 332 on his GRE got rejections from all 10 Top schools that he applied to!
In my opinion, you don't need to re-write it until and unless you are planning to apply in a program/school (strict) which requires you to have a minimum Quant score (of let us say 163 or more). You already have outscored over 90 percent students with your Verbal and AWA session scores.
I suggest you to start with some research before you apply. Make a list of all the schools you want to apply to, go through the requirements of their graduate school and student profiles on their website to gain an insight of their admission criterion. And then, select your schools strategically. It's all about - Presenting your profile with strong SOPs, LORs, Research experience (if any), Good Academic Record and Extra Curriculars.
If you have played your game right - you will have your ADMIT from one or more top schools!
All the best for all your future endeavors.
