GIVEN: x percent of 60 is 12
In other words, (x/100) of 60 = 12
In other words, (x/100)(60) = 12
Simplify: 60x/100 = 12
Simplify: 3x/5 = 12
Multiply both sides by 5 to get: 3x = 60
Solve: x = 60/3 = 20
QUESTION: What is 30 percent of x?
30% of x = 30% of 20
= (30/100)(20)
= (0.3)(20)
= 6
Answer: A
