Always take the exponents at their cose such as in this case 16 is 2^4. Therefore, you do have all in the same fashion

\(2^{4(3x+1)}=2^{8x+12}\)

So \(12x+4=8x+12\)

\(4x=8\)

\(x=2\)

C is the answer
