Given: 3x + 2(x + 2) = 2x + 16
Expand: 3x + 2x + 4 = 2x + 16
Simplify right side: 5x + 4 = 2x + 16
Subtract 4 from both sides: 5x = 2x + 12
Subtract 2x from both sides: 3x = 12
Divide both sides by 3 to get: x = 4
Answer: B
