Given: f(n + 3) = f(n)
So, for example, f(1 + 3) = f(1)
In other words, f(4) = f(1)

Likewise, f(5) = f(2)
And f(6) = f(3)
And f(7) = f(4)
And f(8) = f(5)
etc


ASIDE: Notice that -1 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 8
So, f(-1) = f(2) = f(5) = f(8)
We're told that f(-1) = 6, so it must also be the case that f(2) = 6, f(5) = 6, and f(8) = 6

Answer: E

Given that f(n + 3) = f(n) and f(-1) = 6, f(0) = 5, f(1) = 4 and we need to find the value of f(8)

Given that f(n + 3 ) = f(n) and we can write 8 = 5 + 3
=> f(8) = f(5 + 3) = f (5) = f (2 + 3) = f(2) = f(-1 +3) = f(-1) = 6

So, Answer will be E

Hi Brent GreenlightTestPrep

Given: f(n + 3) = f(n)
So, for example, f(1 + 3) = f(1)
In other words, f(4) = f(1)

Likewise, f(5) = f(5 + 3)= f(8)
And f(6) = f(6 + 3)= f(9)
.... not sure what did I miss here as I'm not able to get your f(5) = f(2)......?
Could you help clarify? Thanks

It is given to us that f(n+3)= f(n)
If you put n = 2 you will get
f(2 + 3) = f(2)
=> f(5) = f(2)
