So we are taking the extreme cases of fuel efficiency of a compact car
A least fuel efficient car will give us 10 mpg of fuel average and we will need \(\frac{200}{10}= 20\) gallons of fuel each costing 4$ and totaling 80$
A most fuel efficient car will give is 50 mpg of fuel average and we will need \(\frac{200}{50} = 4\) gallons of fuel each costing 4$ and totaling 16$
the difference in fuel costs required for this trip between the most fuel efficient and least fuel efficient compact car will equal \(80-16=64$\)
