The given equation is:
(p + 2)(5 - 2/p) = 0
According to the zero-product property, if the product of two factors is equal to zero, then at least one of the factors must be equal to zero.
So, we can set each factor separately to zero and solve for "p":
Setting (p + 2) = 0, we get:
p + 2 = 0
p = -2
Setting (5 - 2/p) = 0, we get:
5 - 2/p = 0
Multiplying both sides by "p" (since p > 0), we get:
5p - 2 = 0
Adding 2 to both sides, we get:
5p = 2
Dividing both sides by 5, we get:
p = 2/5
Answer: D
