Given that r = 2s and t = 3r and we need to find what is s in terms of t

t = 3r = 3*(2s) = 6s
=> s = \(\frac{t}{6}\)

So, Answer will be A

If \(r = 2s\) and \(t = 3r\), what is \(s\) in terms of \(t\)?

We take

Let \(r = 2s\) --- 1

Let \(t = 3r\) --- 2

Substituting the equation 1 in 2, that is substituting the value of \(r\) from 1 in 2, we get

\(t = 3(2s)\)

\(t = 6s\)

\(6s = t\)

\(s = \frac{t}{6} \)

The Answer is Choice A

Since r is present in both equations, we have to express either of the r in terms of s or t and plug it in the other equation.

In the 1st equation, we have the value of r directly, so plug this value of r in t=3r

t=3*2s=6s
so, s=t/6
